The Rug Garden owner Deborah Belding began her career in 1979 with the iconic bespoke carpet manufacturer, Edward Fields ,at their flagship showroom in New York City. Working at Fields for nine years with the best interior designers of that time taught her the fundamentals of creating the absolute finest carpet and area rugs in a myriad of styles. Taking a time out in 1988 to have her son, Kristofer, Deborah “jumped” to the retail side of the business joining the staffs of Einstein Moomjy in Paramus,New Jersey and J & S Designer Flooring in Morristown,New Jersey. Moving to the Hudson Valley in 1998, Deborah had the dream of opening up her beautiful rug and carpet boutique in the quaint village of Rhinebeck. In the 18 months since The Rug Garden has opened, we have seen many repeat customers and referrals. For Deborah, it is all about the service, realizing that this is a very important purchase for the majority of customers coming in the shop. Happiness and satisfaction is our goal.
The Rug Garden specializes in assisting our customers find the most perfect rug for them.. Looking for that special piece? Owner Deborah Belding can find it for you. She has established great relationships with over 40 importers since 1991. The Rug Garden always provides an ” on approval ” service to make sure that it will be the right rug for the room.. Deborah also does house calls at no charge in the Tristate area. We have a wonderful assortment of beautiful wool and natural fiber carpet that can either be made into an area rug or for a wall to wall installation. Is your rug in need of cleaning, repair or restoration work ? We work with the best ” to the trade” cleaner in the city and the results are always magnificent! We will gladly pick up any rug from the City to the Catskills to the Berkshires at no additional cost to you.
