In 1975 at the age of 19 my wife and I decided to start a cleaning business. Our first account was washing windows and our next was waxing floors. For the next 28 years, we built a carpet cleaning company called Pioneer Carpet Cleaning. I loved working with my wife and two sons in our family business. After 28, years my wife and I divorced and with the end of the marriage came the end of Pioneer Carpet Cleaning. Jump forward 30 years. My boss invited me to breakfast and he asked if I had ever considered going back into the carpet cleaning business. I didn't give it much thought until he pulled out papers and handed them to me with the words: “You are terminated” I was suprised! But as with most things in life that initially appear to be bad, something good came out of it. I bought a used van and the best carpet cleaning equipment I could afford.
