Sweeney Commercial Maintenance Services, Inc. was founded in 1978 as J & JS, Inc. by Jim and Jeanne Sweeney. Originally from Ohio, Jim and Jeanne moved to Indianapolis with their young family as a result of a promotion in the insurance industry. Jim quickly decided he wanted to pursue an opportunity to provide a stable life for the family and remain settled in Indianapolis. After evaluating several business opportunities, Jim and Jeanne decided to start J & JS, Inc., a small commercial cleaning company serving Indianapolis. With the values of honesty and integrity, and the belief in treating others' as you would like to be treated, Jim and Jeanne were blessed with a steadily growing business. In 1985, after almost ten years of experiencing growth, J & JS, Inc. brought in Kent to help in managing the business and Medical Office Building Janitorialwas renamed Sweeney Commercial Maintenance Services, Inc. The changes allowed for Kent to learn everything involved in business ownership from operations and customer service to hiring and payroll. After working closely together for over twenty years, Jim and Jeanne retired in 2008, allowing Kent to fully manage the business. Today, almost forty years later, SCMS enjoys working with some of the original clients while holding onto the values of honesty, integrity, and the belief in treating others' as you would like to be treated.
