my parents bought and sold antiques. I learned clean valuables at an early age from them. My first career, passion , was glassblowing. I made Art Glass for 10 years, went for my MFA in glass, and had a number of shows. I won Best of Show at the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival in 1978. I'd still be doing glass, but poisoned myself making iridescent glass and had to stop working in that field. I opened a bike shop and built custom frames for a number of Folks. One of my Mountainbikes was included in the Art of the Mountainbike show in SF in 1989, another won best steel lugged frame at the North American Bicycle Show in 2006…. I started cleaning because every job is a scientific experiment that has an aesthetic component. Besides bikes and glass, It is both exciting and scary to reach into an 80 year old irreplaceable down filled couch and take out a stain or spot… My art background as well as glassmaking skills help me to define a protocol that will be effective.
